WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PUT THE BOUNTY ON HIS HEAD. he will just get an alt to kill himself and get the bounty
ok eve is a game built around pvp no one in eve is safe and if they think they are that is the first mistake. in space below 0.5 it is a dog eat dog world where there are no police and anybody and shoot you and most will. high sec is safer (0.5 and above) if you get shot in high sec then concord will turn up to blow up they ship (unless you are at war with them or you have looted they cans) Concord are not the fastest it takes them a few seconds to turn up and in some cases that is all the person needs to kill you.
scanner is your friend use it all the time when in low sec if you set the range to 4au (598 392 000km)and on a 360 degree scan keep scanning if something appears on the scanner he is most prob on his way to you (unless there are other objects within 4au of you) if you see a ship on its way to you. you have to decide can i kill it, just because you raven can tank 20 NPC battleships does not mean it can tank a pvp fitted cruiser or above. if you have decided to fight then stand your ground and kill him, if you decide you cannot kill him warp out straight away it helps if you allign to an object so that if you click warp out warp out very fast as you dont have to allign and get up to speed.
take this loss as a lesson and dont let it happen again. You will not get your stuff back and if you petition the GM's will prob laugh at you.

not always the case.
I wouldnt pod myself to collect a bounty. I have a little more pride than that. Id wear it with pride till the better man podded me and collected his prize.
some pirates wont pod to collect a bounty, no matter how much.
i have never cashed out on a bounty for the sole reason i have a head full of metal that is worth more than my bounty ever got to (350mill). I don not personally know the killer so do not know whether he would kill himself or not. i know plenty that would kill themself and i only know a few that fly they bounty with pride and honour

for the love of god have they not been through enough.
hpe you got hauler alts because empire just became a whole lot more dangerous
